ServiceMonitor is operated by Colab Technologies LLC. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our cloud infrastructure monitoring service at service-monitor.co.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password. If you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from the provider. We do not store OAuth tokens.

Notification Channel Data

If you configure notification channels, we store:

• Email channels: the email address you provide for alerts
• SMS channels: the phone number you provide for alerts
• Slack channels: the webhook URL you provide

Phone numbers are used solely to deliver uptime alert messages you have explicitly opted into. We do not sell, share, or use phone numbers for marketing.

Monitoring Data

We collect and store check results (status, response times, error messages) for the cloud service endpoints you configure. This data is used to calculate uptime percentages and trigger alerts.

Usage Data

We collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the monitoring service
• To send uptime alerts via your configured notification channels
• To send account-related emails (confirmation, password reset)
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• To improve the Service

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing communications you haven't opted into.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Twilio — to deliver SMS notifications (phone number and message content only)
• Stripe — to process payments (email and payment method only)
• Slack — to deliver webhook notifications (message content only, sent to URLs you provide)
• Law enforcement — if required by valid legal process

5. Data Retention

• Check results: retained for 90 days, then automatically purged
• Daily uptime summaries: retained indefinitely while your account is active
• Account data: retained until you delete your account
• After account deletion: all data permanently removed within 30 days

6. Data Security

We protect your data using:

• Passwords hashed with bcrypt (never stored in plaintext)
• All traffic encrypted via TLS/HTTPS
• API keys hashed at rest; only a prefix is stored for identification
• Session tokens rotated regularly and invalidated on password change

7. Your Rights

You may:

• Access your data via the dashboard and API
• Export your uptime data via CSV download
• Delete your account and all associated data from Account Settings
• Opt out of SMS notifications by removing the channel or replying STOP

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies for session management and CSRF protection. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

ServiceMonitor is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
